I would also invite them to take a look at the browser. They are missing nothing, it is just an unfinished sketch of a function, abandoned years ago. The equivalent hierarchic rack view in Ableton Live is so comically hidden that 99.99% of user dont know of it. Select your Audio Device as your Audio Output Device. On Ableton Live, go to ‘ Options ‘ (1), and ‘ Preferences ‘ (2). It is the fastest and has the most features. Cubase has an extensive library of sounds, whereas Studio One has a more limited soundbank. Cubase is more technically demanding, whereas Studio One works well with weaker hardware. Personally If I was stitching DAWS cubase is the the one I would go with. The main differences between Cubase vs Studio One are: Cubase takes a little longer to master, whereas Studio One is easier for total beginners. Why don't Ableton effect an instrument racks have something like this to help users?Ī clear graphic overview of the effect and instrument racks, showing the signal path.Ībleton are seemingly afraid of their shadows when it comes to making obvious moves like this. Select your primary output device under ‘ Device. The only thing I can say negative about Studio one is the UI is a little busy out of the box, but you can tweak it. The Ableton interface is tidy like my childhood bedroom, everything is hidden crammed under the bed!

With all the amazing new technology in professional audio work today, there. I do like the look of a lot of the new Studione 3 features, Ableton could learn from it.Ībleton seem very timid about their interface, almost over-reverent of their supposed "simplicity" and that reverence usually results in them deleting, omitting features or just awkwardly hiding them. When comparing these two programs, Studio One is much more powerful, than Ableton. Overall though I feel that Logic is a bit harder to master though as it have more functions that need keybindings and such. Studio One's effects are more basic but the mixing ones are still nice. With Logic I feel almost like I don't need any other synths, where in other DAWs I always feel the need to use a 3rd party VST. Logic comes with a bigger plug-in collection especially in terms of synths and samplers. It is fast to do things like creating sends, sidechaining, and doing automation. Studio One on the other hand is better for mixing and mastering. It also has a nice Drum assistant track which is very unique. I've heard great things about comping in Logic.

I stopped using Cubase 10 years ago, but recently had. Logic has a great quantize setup even better than Ableton. I own Logic, Ableton and Studio One, and used Cubase (long-term) and Bitwig (short-term) in the past. Logic is the better alternative if you want to write songs as it has a better midi environment. one downside is no surround suppport.Īny opinions from people that are familiar with the current versions of both? the Project handling is handy though, and the new features in v3 look good.

i have Studio One 2 (what a stupid naming system) but it has never really grabbed me. I used Logic quite a lot many years back, but haven't touched it since then.
